Life is what happens.

Whether you're busy making other plans or not...life just keeps happening.
Sometimes life happens when you get to go wedding dress shopping with your sister. I was so glad to get to be a part of that! It was an experience that included waking up at 5am, trying to get a peek at the Starbucks drive-through guy from the passenger seat of my mom's car (all I could tell was that he had a cute chin), and sitting in a chair (& occasionally on the floor) as my sister tried on well over a dozen dresses at two different bridal shops. But all of it was more than worth it to get to see the look on my sister's face when she walked out of the dressing room in 'the dress'. I can't describe it, there was just this glow on her face!! The dress is beautiful...and just so 'her'! Life happened.

Sometimes life happens when your pants rip. Right up the seam of your back pocket. While you're at work...that's when this happens:
Yeah, I patched them...and my co-workers agree with my decision to do so. Why get rid of a pair of jeans because there is a rip in them? Especially when I can make them somewhat perfectly decent-ish again. There is no point in buying a brand-new pair of pants so I can sit in a sand box. It is a total waste of money. If I am going to buy new pants, I am not going to sacrifice them by exposing them to glitter, glue, paint, snot, peanut butter and bleach water! Life happened.

Sometimes life happens when you're cruising down the road going 38 mph on your way home from work:
If this little pink slip of paper doesn't look at all familiar to you, consider yourself lucky! This is what a speeding ticket looks like. I thought I was driving at a perfectly respectable speed...I didn't realize I was going through a school zone. Suddenly, my 'perfectly respectable speed' is 13mph over the speed limit. Now I have to go through traffic school and all the blah blah blah that comes from not paying close enough attention.
Life happened!

and all the little ants go marching...

I have a problem.
An ant problem.
And don't like it.
When I first discovered ants in my bathroom (random place for ants) I attacked them with a stream of hairspray. Mostly because its was 10:30 at night and that was the only thing I had at my disposal. Not only did it kill the ants, but it also sealed them to my floor a little bit and made my bathroom floor all sticky. So the next day I mopped my bathroom floor with bleach-water and the ants still didn't go away. So I bought ant traps, and now the ants are just mocking me. They are treating the trap like it's a little ant-sized Starbucks. They are just chilling out in and around it. They go in, they come out, they bring their friends...and it's driving me CRAZY!
Last night at dinner, a friend of mine inadvertently gave me a brilliant idea. She had mentioned seeing an anteater at the zoo...so I thought that maybe getting an anteater for my apartment would help me with my problem...but, ever the voice of reason, she reminded me having an anteater in my bathroom would just cause and bigger and stranger infestation. How would I then get rid of the anteaters? Is there such a thing as an anteater eater? And what is the difference between an anteater and an aardvark? Why is aardvark such a funny word?
Yes, an anteater would cause a much bigger conundrum then a bunch of little, tiny, ants.

I might invest in a can of Raid, though...

"Thursday...it just can't be Thursday. It's too gruesome"

Actually, I don't mind Thursdays...they are my 'Fridays' (the day before my day off). But I thought a quote from Breakfast At Tiffany's might be appropriate for a post about a mug with "Tiffany Lamps" on it. I got this mug at Serendipity iii in New York. I liked the restaurant, and I liked the mug. I especially liked the quote on the inside which gives the definition of serendipity as "the art of finding the unusual, or the pleasantly unexpected by chance of sagacity"...nice, right?

If you ever find yourself in New York, I do recommend this little restaurant. The food is really yummy, and you HAVE to get a 'Frrrozen Hot Chocolate'

In other news: I am missing a bracelet. My Starbucks bracelet to be exact. It wasn't in my jewelry box this morning, and I don't know where else it would be. I doubt it was stolen, because if someone were to break into my apartment and, subsequently, my jewelry box I don't think they'd steal a charm bracelet made out of glass beads and a Starbucks gift card...especially since my gramma has a habit of giving me really nice jewelry that I'm not quite old enough for yet (like emerald earrings, and a pink-gold tennis bracelet)...my new mission tomorrow is to clean my little apartment from top to bottom in search of this bracelet-but let me know if you find it first!
